The Chisholm Trail Stampede is held in Duncan, Oklahoma also known as the Heart of the Chisholm trail. Duncan is home to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center.

     After its first year, Duncan’s Chisholm Trail Stampede won the Merit Award for Best New Event in the state by the Oklahoma Travel and Tourism Association. It is a week long celebration of the west featuring a trail ride, a PRCA rodeo, rodeo concert and dance, main street parade, 5-K walk/run, western heritage art show and sale, 50th Anniversary of Kiddieland, and the Western Spirit Celebration. The participating organizations are Main Street Duncan, the Simmons Center, The PRCA rodeo, the Duncan Lake Trail Riding Club, The Duncan Art Guild and the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center.
